Sedation Dentistry and the Apneic Patient

Apr 11, 2010 @ 03:55 PM – by Edward Shukovsky

Apnea is the closing of the airway thereby not allowing proper air transfer into the lungs.  We recently successfully treated a severely apneic patient with positive pressure from nitrous/oxygen system. What a great feeling to provide a comfortable dental service to a patient in need.  Having been certified in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and Sedation Dentistry allows us to treat many compromised patients comfortably and safely.
