What it takes to do Cosmetic Dentistry

Apr 11, 2010 @ 03:33 PM – by Edward Shukovsky

Cosmetic Dentistry is like a Venn Diagram; lots of mergers and overlaps.  For example, very often patients want to brighten their smile with tooth bleaching.  But are the shapes of the teeth ok? Do they need to be reshaped with veneers or crowns or bonding?  Is the alignment ok or does the patient need Invisalign or traditional braces?   The concept of Smile Design is not looking at one tooth or one aspect of cosmetic dentistry but brings the entire approach together much like a conductor brings the orchestra together.
