sleep apneaWe are proud to announce that our practice has been approved as a Durable Medical Equipment provider for Medicare! Dr. Edward Shukovsky can now provide Medicare patients with oral appliances to treat sleep apnea, often at no cost to the patient. To qualify for Medicare coverage for sleep apnea treatment at our practice, Medicare patients must meet the following criteria:

  • Complete a sleep study
  • Obtain a physician’s prescription
  • Demonstrate recorded intolerance for a CPAP machine (Affidavit of CPAP intolerance required)

Many patients who suffer from sleep apnea are uncomfortable with a CPAP machine, and often choose not to wear the device when they sleep. Without proper treatment, sleep apnea can cause very serious health risks. With an oral appliance, patients can treat sleep apnea without a cumbersome CPAP machine, and avoid risks such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
